  • International and European Family Law – Comparative Perspectives on Current Issues (International Virtual Collaboration with the University of Coimbra) in winter semester 2021 (jointly with Prof. Dr. Dethloff, LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Távora Vítor)
    • 4 block lectures: Thursdays, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., on Oct. 21, Nov. 11, Dec. 16 und Jan. 13 plus instructed virtual (group) work.
      The concept of the lecture and the exact agenda will be explained during the first meeting.
      The lecture will be held in English and is an international, virtual educational project in cooperation with Prof. Távora Vítor of the University of Coimbra in Portugal. The lectures will be held virtually using the software "zoom". Active exchange among all participants will be a particular priority.
      Current topics in the field of substantive family law will be discussed from a comparative perspective and with special regard to international legal instruments and jurisdiction, in particular the ECtHR. Comparative considerations will also serve as a basis for national reforms as well as international and European standardization and harmonization efforts. In addition, the role of the European Union in national family law will be examined.
      The lecture is part of the program in Schwerpunktbereich (SPB) 5.
      Specific reading recommendations will be given for follow-up and exam preparation.
