Curriculum Vitae

Nach einem Bachelor-Studium am Public Administration Department der Middle East Technical University in Ankara, das sie im Jahre 1988 abschloss, absolvierte Ergün Özgür 1992 den Masterstudiengang ‚Banking‘  an der Marmara University in Istanbul sowie 2007 den Studiengang ‚Global Politics and International Relations‘ an der Bahçeşehir University (Istanbul). 2011 wurde Ergün Özgür an der Marmara University im Bereich ‚Organizational Behavior (Business Administration)’ promoviert. Ihre Dissertation behandelt das Thema „The Intervening Role of Work Values between the Personal Values and Work Engagement (Cross-cultural Research: Abkhazia - Turkey)”.
Von 2012 bis 2015 lehrte Dr. Ergün Özgür an der Cyprus International University (Nikosia). Ihre Veranstaltungen behandelten unter anderem “the European Union’s Mediterranean policy”, “current world events”, “the Caucasus in the post-cold war era”, “culture and leadership” sowie “conflict management and organizational behavior”.  Von Oktober 2015 bis September 2016 hatte sie ein Post-Doc-Fellowship des Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (Tübitak) inne. Am Institut de sciences politiques Louvain – Europe (ISPOLE), der Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgien verfolgte Dr. Özgür ein Forschungsprojekt mit dem Thema “Host Country’s Adaptation-Integration Policies and the Values of Immigrants (Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey)”. Bis August 2017 ist Dr. Ergün Özgür an der UCL als Visiting Professor tätig.

Von November 2016 bis Juli 2017 war Dr. Ergün Özgür Fellow am Käte Hamburger Kolleg „Recht als Kultur“.

Forschungsschwerpunkte

Dr. Özgürs Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Kultur, Gender, Identität sowie Immigration, Integration und Multikulturalismus. Dabei hat sich Dr. Ergün Özgür insbesondere auf den Mittleren Osten, den Kaukasus sowie Europa spezialisiert.

Forschungsprojekt

Integration of minorities from Turkey and  the Multicultural Policy Implementations in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands

Im Rahmen ihres Fellowships am Käte Hamburger Kolleg „Recht als Kultur“ wird Dr. Özgür zum Thema “Integration of minorities from Turkey and  the Multicultural Policy Implementations in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands“ forschen. Das interkulturelle Projekt beinhaltet die Einwanderung nicht-muslimischer Immigranten (Assyrer, Armenier, Griechen und Juden) aus der Türkei in die drei genannten europäischen Länder, welche eine unterschiedliche ‚multikulturelle‘ Politik verfolgen. Zur Realisierung des Projekts wird Ergün Özgür u.a. qualitative Interviews durchführen.
