Cheikh Ndiaye

Curriculum Vitae

Cheikh Ndiaye, geboren 1970 in Dakar, ist ein zeitgenössischer Maler und Künstler. Im Jahr 1998 schloss er sein Studium der Visuellen Künste an der École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Dakar, Senegal ab. Darüber hinaus erwarb er 2008 das Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique an der École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, Frankreich. Seine Werke waren bereits in zahlreichen Ausstellungen in Europa, Afrika und den Vereinigten Staaten zu sehen und wurden unter anderem 2008 mit dem  Linossier Preis in Lyon, 2012 mit dem Natulis Art Temporary Preis in Berlin sowie 2013 mit dem Marin Prize for Painting in Paris ausgezeichnet. Cheikh Ndiaye lebt und arbeitet in Dakar sowie New York. Von November 2017 bis August 2018 war er Artist in Residence am Käte Hamburger Kolleg „Recht als Kultur“, Bonn.
