Günther Jakobs - „Zur Theorie strafrechtlicher Zurechnung“ („On the theory of criminal law attribution“)

Günther Jakobs studied law in Cologne, Kiel and Bonn, obtained his doctorate degree in 1967 from the University of Bonn and wrote his habilitation treatise there under Hans Welzel in 1971 on “Studien zum fahrlässigen Erfolgsedikt”. In the same year, he was called to the University of Kiel, in 1976 he became professor at the University of Regensburg. From 1986 up to his attainment of emeritus status in 2002, Günther Jakobs taught and researched at the University of Bonn, where he was director of the Legal-Philosophical Seminary, as well as co-director of the Institute for Criminal Law.

Günther Jakobs is co-editor of the Zeitschrift für die gesamte Strafrechtswissenschaft (ZStW). Furthermore, he is a member of the Bavarian and North Rhine Westphalian Academy of Science and Senior Fellow of the Käte Hamburger Center for Advanced Study in the Humanities "Law as Culture".
